(But like, not really)
Media observers know that Vicente Fox has established himself online as a political troll / personal nemesis of Donald Trump. On Thursday, the former Mexican president kicked his mockery up a notch by starring in a satirical video where he declared his intent to run for the American presidency in 2020.
Fox made the video by collaborating with Super Deluxe, the YouTube collective who was responsible for that mentally-exhausting Hillary Clinton Meme Queen video which went semi-viral during last year’s election. In the video, Fox announces that he will finally oblige everyone who keeps sending him messages asking him to be president instead of Trump.
“America, I feel your pain, we all do,” says Fox. “And that is why that is why today I am proud to announce my candidacy for President of the United States.”
The campaign video proceeds to mock Trump’s inauguration crowd size, his lack of progress on the Mexican border wall, and the fact that the president hasn’t signed any legislative bills into law yet. As for Fox, he’s promising a presidential campaign with mariachi bands, a competent cabinet, and yes, taco trucks on every corner.
