The cockpit voice recorder was one of the key pieces that authorities have been scrambling to find ever since the airliner went missing nearly a month ago. Sixty-six people were killed in the crash, including 56 passengers and 10 EgyptAir crew members.
Although the black box was damaged, Cairo’s investigation committee noted that they had been able to obtain the, “memory unit which is the most important in the recorder.”
