Washington AG on Judge Temporarily Blocking Travel Ban: No One’s Above the Law, Including Trump
Washington State attorney general Bob Ferguson called into CNN tonight to talk to Anderson Cooper about the Seattle judge who temporarily blocked President Trump‘s travel ban tonight.
U.S. District Judge James Robart‘s ruling applies nationwide, and Ferguson told Cooper he was very encouraged by this outcome.
He pointed out the judge in question was a Bush appointee and said that despite being a Democrat, he himself has filed lawsuits against the Obama administration.
Ferguson said this is about rule of law and pushing back against the “blatantly unconstitutional and unlawful executive action” by the Trump administration, adding, “No one is above the law, and that includes the president.”
He also described the rollout of the executive order as a very “Keystone Cops”-like situation.
