WATCH: Denver Students Walk Out of Schools in Protest of DACA Decision LIVE STREAM

Kids in schools across Denver, CO have walked out in protest of the Tuesday morning announcement that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is being rescinded.

The decision from President Donald Trump was made public during a Tuesday morning press conference by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“The effect of this unilateral executive amnesty, among other things contributed to a surge of minors at the southern border with humanitarian consequences,” Sessions said. “It denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same illegal aliens to take those jobs.”

The White House followed by releasing a statement from Trump articulating his reasons for the move.

“I do not favor punishing children, most of whom are now adults, for the actions of their parents,” Trump said. “But we must also recognize that we are a nation of opportunity because we are a nation of laws.”

But many on social media and cable news have voiced their disapproval.

“If you can zoom in on the Statue of Liberty right now, I would suspect she would be shedding a tear — this is a dark day for our country,” said MSNBC guest Jared Bernstein — a former economic advisor to Joe Biden.

Now, many school kids in Denver are likewise making their dissent known.
