ESPN’s Adam Schefter Takes a Phone Call Live During SportsCenter, Awkwardness Ensues

Upon first viewing, we’ll confess, we thought this looked contrived.

But no, it seems ESPN’s Adam Schefter actually (and casually, we might add) took a phone call on the air.

It happened during Thursday night’s SC:6 edition of SportsCenter, hosted by Jemele Hill and Michael Smith. At the beginning of the segment, Schefter requested a moment.

“Hold on one second,” he said to Smith.

“Am I right or wrong?” Schefter said to the unnamed person on the other end of the phone.

Schefter coolly took the call, as Smith and Hill looked on in disbelief. After a few seconds, the NFL insider eventually hung up.

“We’re good,” Schefter said, without divulging the details of the call.

“You just can’t do that!” Hill said.

“Yes I can! I just did!” Schefter said.
