WATCH: Fox News Anchor Eric Shawn Cuts Off Panelist Who Says Trump Calling Women Dogs is a ‘Compliment’
Last week, President Donald Trump called former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman a “dog” in response to the host of damning claims she made against the president in her new book.
Tuesday on Fox News, one analyst somehow tried to spin that as a compliment.
In a heated debate on America’s Newsroom, Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt — after fellow panelist Marie Harf ripped the president for “calling women dogs” — amazingly said the label was intended to be kind.
“Calling someone dog is a compliment,” Hurt said. “If someone called me dog, I…”
Eric Shawn, filling in for Bill Hemmer as co-host of America’s Newsroom Tuesday, did a terrific job immediately shutting down Hurt’s nonsense.
“That’s not a compliment, Charlie,” Shawn said. “Not at all.”
Hurt merely grinned, almost as if even he couldn’t believe what he was saying.
