WATCH: Gritty Bodyslams, Throw Wreaths at Santas to Force Them Off Flyers Rink

The Philadelphia Flyers new mascot Gritty fully embraced his anti-hero status yesterday, physically attacking a group of Santas — less than a week before Christmas, no less — until they fled from his hockey ring.

In the clip, Gritty, who was sporting his own Santa costume, can be seen being asked to leave the rink, before he jets off in pursuit of a Santa on skates, who he brutally took down by wrangling him with a Christmas wreath. He then nailed a different Santa with the same festive wreath, knocking him down on the ice. Gritty finished the job by running the rest of the Santas off the ice.

But that wasn’t the end of Gritty’s anti-Santa aggression.

During a separate incident, the Philly legend can be seen ferociously tackling two Santas on the rink and defiantly skating over one of his victims, like a present day Allen Iverson stepping over Tyronn Lue.

While Gritty was originally thought of as a terrifying abomination when he first debuted in September, he has since been embraced by much of the Internet for his signature give-no-fucks attitude, and his latest beef with Santas displays exactly why he was so loved.
