Vox’s Liz Plank conducted a little social experiment while in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention. She wanted to see how a supporter of Donald Trump would fare on a date with someone who votes Democrat, supports Black Lives Matter, and would have no problem with having her taxes raised to benefit others.
Plank got some interesting results:
Over pizza and wine, the two talked about their beliefs and differences, finding that they still had plenty in common even though they didn’t agree on anything political and the Trump supporter got condescending at least twice and the Democrat got defensive at least once.
What about you? Are you in a partnership with someone who doesn’t share your views? How do you handle it?
