WATCH: Ivanka Glares Icily as Angela Merkel Wrecks Trump For Saying US-Made BMWs May Be Security Threats
A picture might ordinarily be worth a thousand words, but Ivanka Trump‘s icy reaction to German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a speech in Munich on Saturday seemed to convey only two.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Merkel — with the first daughter looking on — went after President Donald Trump for wanting to label BMWs as national security threats. This classification would pave the way for tariffs to be imposed.

“We’re proud of our cars,” Merkel said (via translator). “They are built in the United States of America. South Carolina…[is] actually the largest BMW plant. Not in Bavaria.”
As such, the chancellor considers it a “shock” that the vehicles would be deemed a security threat by the Trump administration.
“So, when these cars…are supposed to be a threat to the national security of America, it’s a bit of a shock to us,” Merkel said — to a hearty round of applause.
Cut to Ivanka, headphones held up to her ear to listen to the translation. Here was her reaction to Merkel’s singeing commentary:
