Watch Kentucky Fans Experience the Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat All Within Seconds

Imagine being a Kentucky basketball fan watching the remarkable closing seconds of North Carolina’s stunning Elite Eight win over the Wildcats.

Thanks to the Lexington Herald-Leader, you don’t have to imagine. You can see for yourself.

The H-L captured fans watching the dramatic closing seconds of the game at a bar in Lexington on Sunday. After Kentucky’s Malik Monk hit a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game at 73 with 7.2 seconds left, the Wildcat fans exploded. A tie seemed nearly impossible just seconds earlier when North Carolina had the ball, up three, going to the line. But a free throw miss gave Kentucky a chance, and Monk made the improbable shot to send the crowd in a frenzy.

And then just seconds later, Luke Maye for North Carolina sank the game winner, and the elation from Kentucky fans promptly turned to heartbreak.
