The Trump family is getting an early start on Christmas.
Monday, First Lady Melania Trump will receive the official White House Christmas Tree during a ceremony outside the White House.
Normally, this event takes place the day after Thanksgiving. But the First Lady is expected to be down in Mar-a-Lago on Friday along with President Donald Trump, so the ceremony is being moved up to accommodate the family’s schedule.
The official White House tree — not to be confused with the much larger National Christmas Tree, which is displayed outdoors just south of the White House — is showcased in the Blue Room.
According to Fox Milwaukee, this year’s tree — a Balsam Fir which was grown in Wisconsin — stands approximately 19 1/2 feet. The family who donated this year’s Balsam Fir has donated the Blue Room tree twice before.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. ET. Watch above, via the White House.
