White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will meet the press corps in a briefing set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
What will be on today’s docket? There are still some questions as to the timeline of events in the Rob Porter scandal, not to mention President Donald Trump’s weekend tweet, in which he seemingly came to the defense of both Porter and the other White House staffer who resigned amid spousal abuse allegations, David Sorensen.
As a matter of fact, expect Sanders to face multiple questions on the Trump administration’s handling of Porter and Sorensen. Even GOP politicians, such as Sen. Joni Ernst, (R-AZ) have suggested the administration needs to send a stronger message regarding domestic violence.
There’s also Trump’s infrastructure plan and what it means for both states and private business, with some suggesting the plan favors rural states at the expense of projects in major metropolitan areas.
Finally, there’s the fact that President Trump decided not to release the Democratic response memo to the one crafted by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA,) at least not yet, claiming that it contains “numerous properly classified and especially sensitive passages.”
