Watch RNC Leader Incite Revolt Against Trump Behind Closed Doors, Urge Spanking

A Republican National Committee leader who represents the U.S. Virgin Islands is making a bid to grab some headlines by talking about Donald Trump. During a closed-door meeting at the RNC winter meeting, RNC committeman Holland Redfield delivered a five-minute rantlet about candidates like Donald Trump, while refusing to say his name, then shopped the video to Politico for publication.

As the bleary RNC audience listened silently, Holland railed against the pressure he feels to play nice with candidates like Trump, saying “we’re almost terrorized as members of our party. ‘Shut up. Toe the line, embrace each other, and let’s go forward.’”

He also made reference to taking a candidate like Trump “over your knee and spank(ing) them,” because Republicans apparently have some kind of weird thing for spanking politicians.

Redfield might earn himself a few dismissive tweets from Trump, but it seems unlikely that his Braveheart meets Milton from Office Space speech will rally any serious opposition to Trump, who, true to his name, holds all the cards when it comes to the RNC. They’ve gotten as cute as they possibly can with their SOTU rebuttal, but won’t risk a Trump third-party run.
