Over the past two years, tennis’s Brazil Open has had rescue dogs serve as ball fetchers. This year, one of the six dogs charged with chasing down tennis balls decided to take a bathroom break at a pretty unfortunate moment, and in a pretty unfortunate spot.
After retrieving a ball, the dog dropped the ball in front of him on the clay court. And then, the dog relieved him or herself (the dog’s gender is unknown) a few feet behind the baseline.
A player went over to pet the dog shortly after the playing surface poops. A short time later, a staffer cleaned up the mess.
We suspect the dog will not be called to work Wimbledon anytime soon.
