Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss the White House’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The briefing is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. EST.
Sanders is likely to be asked about President Trump‘s visit to Capitol Hill, where he is making his latest effort to push tax reform. The president’s luncheon with GOP senators is expected to encourage party unity and quicken reviews for a legislative package that will supposedly lead to broad-range tax cuts. The tax reform effort is of major significance to Trump, especially since Congress’ multiple setbacks on health care have left the president without a single legislative victory at this point.
Another topic likely to come up is the president’s re-ignitied feud with Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman, Bob Corker. Corker gave an interview earlier today where reiterated his opinion that Trump is a negative force on international politics. After Trump and Corker exchanged fire on Twitter, the senator gave follow-up comments where he said Trump’s legacy will be defined by his “debasing of our nation.”
Other subjects likely to come include the aftermath of the Niger Ambush, as well as the the president’s disputes with Myeshia Johnson and Congresswoman Frederica Wilson.
