As Texas senator Ted Cruz declares his public support for Donald Trump, the Twitterverse is having a feeding frenzy with all their latest hot-takes.
Cruz has held off his support for Trump, ever since their exceptionally nasty and very personal battle with one another during the Republican primary. As Cruz endorses the man who insulted his wife, pushed a conspiracy theory about his father, and attacked him in multiple other ways, news junkies took to Twitter to express their bemusement and their predictions for the political future.
What was that Omarosa said about "bowing down" to Trump?…… https://t.co/fHVb1idM1p

"Welcome to the first 2020 GOP debate. Sen. Cruz, you praised Trump, then called him a pathological liar, then endorsed him. What happened?"

I think @tedcruz endorsing Trump at this point plays to the caricature that he is self-interested, not really principled. Hate it for him.

Endorsing a guy who attacked your wife is about as “cuck” as it gets.

Harambe never would have let Cruz endorse.

The ultimate troll move would’ve been for Cruz to endorse Trump the day after he loses. God I would’ve respected that.

The one thing I liked about Ted Cruz was his sticking to #NeverTrump

CRUZ: I can proudly say that I endorse Donald Trump
PRESS: [GASP]
CRUZ: TO SEE ME IN HELL! [kicks over podium, does wheelie out of room]

Wait…Trump accused his dad of killing JFK and Lyin' Ted is STILL gonna endorse? pic.twitter.com/KfJh4hP4OU

From our own John Ziegler:
Ted Cruz was with Trump when he could've beaten him & against him when he couldn't. Then he non-endorsed with max damage, & caved for 0 gain
