Wolf Blitzer tried, but ousted White House Chief of Staff Reince Pribus absolutely refused to engage on the issue of Anthony Scaramucci’s vulgar insults of Priebus.
Appearing Friday on The Siutuation Room for his first interview since leaving office, Priebus told Blitzer that he simply wasn’t going to comment on Scaramucci calling him a “f*cking paranoid schizophrenic” during an interview with The New Yorker.
“I’m not going to respond to it,” Preibus said. “I’m not going to get into the mud on those sorts of things.”
Blitzer pressed, but Priebus again gave him the brush-off.
“Look, it’s over,” Priebus said. “I’m moving on.”
The longtime CNN anchor then asked about Scarmucci’s charge that Priebus is a White House leaker.
“Are you the leaker in the White House?” Blizter asked pointedly.
“That’s ridiculous, Wolf. Come on!” Priebus said.
But even though he was mum on the Anthony Scaramucci line of questioning, Blitzer was convinced that Preibus’s body language and tone made his feelings about Scaramucci crystal clear.
“You could see the bitterness seep through,” Blitzer said, during a panel discussion (not included in the video above) following the interview.
