A Texas woman was arrested by police and charged with aggravated assault after she threw a Molotov cocktail at a group of people outside a Planned Parenthood facility.
The group was made up of anti-abortion protesters who held a prayer vigil outside the Planned Parenthood building in South Austin. Ruth Allwein said that as she prayed on Monday, she saw someone throw the Molotov cocktail from her car and backed away.
She put out the fire and called the police. They ended up finding and arresting Melanie Toney, who ended up confessing to throwing the Molotov cocktail.
A regional Planned Parenthood head reacted by saying, “We are jut very sad this happened and we are thankful no one was hurt.”
The Central Texas Coalition for life also reacted on Facebook:
The safety of our volunteers is of utmost importance which is why it is necessary to have at least 2 people praying at all times. Our approach has always been that we have a peaceful prayerful attitude and be aware of our surroundings, which is what these volunteers exemplified. Let us pray for all involved.
