C-SPAN Caller Tells Democratic Rep. Al Green He Should ‘Be Arrested’ as Accessory To ‘Rape and Murder’

A C-SPAN caller confronted Rep. Al Green (D-TX) over the murder of a young girl in his home state by an undocumented immigrant, telling the Democratic congressman he should “be arrested” as an “accessory” to “rape and murder.”

Green appeared on the network Tuesday and took a call from Richard, a Republican from Savannah, Georgia.

“You talk about caring about the people of America and defending them with the Constitution,” the caller started. “For four years, we watched you Democrats with open borders let about 30 million illegals in, and we had Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl in your district in Houston, get raped and murdered.”

Nungaray was found dead in a Houston creek in June 2024 after prosecutors said she was assaulted and killed. Two Venezuelan nationals who entered the U.S. illegally, Franklin Jose Peña Ramos and Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, have been charged with capital murder in her death.

“Why shouldn’t the Biden administration — [former President] Joe Biden, [former DHS Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas, you — be arrested for accessories to rape and murder?” Richard questioned.

“Anyone who commits a crime ought to be prosecuted,” Green responded, then choosing to reference his just-killed effort to impeach President Donald Trump. “If they’re convicted, they ought to go to jail. In the case of the president, we can’t prosecute him right now, but we can impeach him.”

“The Supreme Court has given the president almost absolute immunity,” the Texas congressman continued. “They haven’t given him absolute immunity, but he has assumed the authoritarian position.”

Moving back to the question at hand, Green added:

Anybody who commits a crime, whether you’re illegal or legal, you ought to be prosecuted and you ought to be convicted, and I would say if you’re raping people, and it’s proven that you did it, then you ought to be fully punished, to the extent that the law allows.

I’m not a person who supports any of that, and I regret that you would assume that because I want to have the president not be above the law that somehow I would have other people be above the law. No one should be above the law of the country.

Guest C-SPAN host Jasmine Wright then pressed further, asking, “Who should be responsible for the actions that are committed by undocumented migrants who come over into this country illegally, if they had come in under the Biden administration?”

“The people who commit crimes are responsible for their crimes,” Green said. “That’s always been the case in this country. Why would we not prosecute people who commit crimes? I’m totally for that.”
