Greta Lashes Out at ‘Dimwit’ NY Times Writer Who Bashed Fox News

Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren can’t stop, won’t stop. After whipping up on Salon‘s Joan Walsh, who Van Susteren called “dopey,” she’s going after New York Times editorial writer Jesse Wegman.

On Wednesday, Wegman charged on Twitter that Fox News is a “welfare system for otherwise unemployable jackasses.” The root of his angst was a comment from earlier in the week by Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade regarding former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

Rice was suspended from the NFL this week after video surfaced of him knocking his then-fiancée Janay unconscious in an elevator.

“The message is, take the stairs,” Kilmeade joked.

That obviously wasn’t funny to Wegman, who mocked Fox & Friends as a place where its producers think “the most obnoxious thing” on current events.

“Where does the New York Times get a DIMWIT like Jesse Wegman?” read a headline on Van Susteren’s blog responding to Wegman’s tweets.

“The writer has a beef with one – apparently just one – of my colleagues so he attacks the entire network of thousands of employees,” Van Susteren wrote in her post. “That’s what bigots do — they generalize. They have prejudice against an entire group.”
