Mets Players Hang Out With Donald Trump Jr. During Shark Fishing Excursion

Recently hired New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway invited some of his players and staff to a shark fishing event on Friday. One person who also showed up was none other than presidential son Donald Trump Jr.

In a now-deleted Instagram photo from Mets prospect Philip Evans, Trump Jr. appears alongside Callaway and a couple Mets players posing next to a couple of sharks that they caught. One of the players in the photo is Mets pitcher Matt Harvey.

As the New York Daily News reported, Harvey and other Mets players play golf on a regular basis at Trump National Golf Club in the Bronx.

The Daily News noted that a Mets representative told them that it was just “coincidental” that the Trump scion appeared on the beach. Evans said the same thing, explaining that Trump Jr. was merely fishing on the same beach and it wasn’t a political statement.

Maybe Trump Jr. was just trying to take out some sharks considering that his dad is really, really scared of them.
