President Donald Trump announced on Twitter Monday that Larry Kudlow, his top economic adviser, had suffered a heart attack.
“Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack,” Trump tweeted, just minutes before his highly anticipated summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
“He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center,” Trump added.

Kudlow joined Trump’s administration as the president’s top economic adviser in March, replacing Gary Cohn. He previously worked as a host on CNBC, and before that as a banker and economic adviser in the Reagan administration.
The adviser most recently took center stage in the economic negotiations at the G7 summit, and backed Trump in his criticisms of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over tariffs.
