Former Trump Hotel Employee Finds New Employment at…The White House!?

Timothy Harleth is changing jobs, but not necessarily changing bosses.

First lady Melania Trump announced Friday that Harleth, former Director of Rooms at Trump International Hotel Washington D.C., will become the new White House Chief Usher.

“I am so pleased that Timothy will be joining our team,” Melania Trump said in the release statement. “He was selected because of his impressive work history and management skills. My husband and I know he will be successful in this vital role within the White House.”

According to his LinkedIn account, he has only worked for the Trump hotel since April 2016. Before that, he worked multiple positions at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group since February 2007. In his new position he will be in charge of household staff and operations and in charge of almost 90 employees.

“I am so honored at the opportunity to serve the First Family in their new home,” Harleth said in the statement. “I look forward to applying my experience with hospitality, leadership, and political protocol in order to ensure the First Family’s needs are met, while also protecting and preserving the rich history of the White House. I am excited to work alongside the accomplished and professional staff who are already in place.”

The job was previously held by Angella Reid, who was hired under Obama, before being dismissed last month by the Trump administration.

People are taking to Twitter to express their opposition to the Trump employee’s new position.

He will start July 3.
