Jim Acosta: Trump’s Speech Should Have Come With ‘Surgeon General’s Warning, It Was Hazardous to the Truth’

Giving his thoughts to President Donald Trump’s speech to the country from the Oval Office on Tuesday, CNN’s Jim Acosta the speech needed to have a warning from the Surgeon General’s warning because it was hazardous to the truth.

“Well Chris, I think that address should’ve come from with a Surgeon General’s warning, it was hazardous to the truth,” Acosta told CNN anchor Chris Cuomo. “There were a number of claims the President made in that speech that are not just gonna stand up to the facts you mentioned.”

He further tweeted criticisms, such as accusing Trump of “painting undocumented immigrants as criminals”:

The line was mocked by conservatives, who said it goes to show Acosta is just all about showing off:

In their official fact-check of the speech and although a few said some were true to an extent, CNN disputed 11 statments Trump made during his 9-minute address to the nation.
