Report: Kellyanne Conway Apologized to Trump After Pushing Ivanka’s Clothing Line
CNN reports Friday that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway apologized to President Donald Trump after sparking controversy by telling Fox & Friends viewers to go out and buy his daughter’s products.
Conway’s Thursday morning remarks we’re highly scrutinized, with many pointing out she appeared to have violated ethical guidelines preventing federal employees from endorsing products or using their public office to enrich friends and family. Even Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee Jason Chaffetz joined the chorus of voices demanding an explanation.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer said enigmatically Thursday that Conway had been “counseled” on the issue. A senior administration official now tells CNN that Conway apologized to Trump. According to that official, Trump then told Conway he supports her completely, confirming what Conway herself tweeted.
POTUS supports me, and millions of Americans support him & his agenda. https://t.co/FTaPXTymGV

According to CNN, Trump also told Conway he was upset with Spicer’s “counseled” language, saying that he “hated” it.
