Sen. Blumenthal Hits Lindsey Graham: He’s Suggesting Don Jr. Is ‘Above the Law’
Senator Richard Blumenthal (D- CT) swiped at Senator Lindsey Graham (R- SC) on CNN this afternoon for his advice to the president’s son.
Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on Fox News yesterday, “If I were Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer, I would tell him, you don’t need to go back into this environment anymore. You’ve been there for hours and hours and nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation. I would call it a day.”
Blumenthal appeared on CNN this afternoon and again said he believes Trump Jr. was deceptive in his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
When Blitzer asked about Graham’s comments, Blumenthal said the following:
“Whether he has that information or not, suggesting that Donald Trump Jr. is above the law strikes me as unfounded and contrary to the positions that he took on Richard Nixon and on Bill Clinton and others where he has argued that the law applies to everyone and that’s the ruling of the United States Supreme Court.”
Last week, Blumenthal took another shot at Trump Jr., and the president’s son responded with a reference to Blumenthal being busted in 2010 for past claims that he had served in Vietnam, despite having never done so.
