WATCH LIVE: Trump Delivers Speech to Venezuelan Community in Miami to Support Juan Guaido

Amid growing tensions in Venezuela over the future of the country’s leadership, President Donald Trump will speak in South Florida to lobby support for National Assembly President Juan Guaido, who the U.S. has recognized as the nation’s leader despite current President Nicolas Maduro’s claim to the throne.

While speaking in front of some members of the Venezuela-American community in Miami, the president is expected to demand that the socialist nation “work toward democracy” and install Guaido as their president, or else.

“The United States knows where military officials and their families have money hidden throughout the world,” Trump is expected to say, per remarks released by the White House ahead of the speech.

His speech includes another demand for “Venezuelan military officials,” whose power could dictate who stays in power, to choose the “clear choice – work toward democracy for their future and the future of their families, or they will lose everything they have.”

Trump is expected to slam “the dangers of socialism” and call for “military and security forces should listen to President Guaido and allow humanitarian aid into Venezuela.”

The remarks come days after the White House demanded European Union countries to recognize Guaido

“It is time for the rest of the world to step forward. Once more the old world can take a stand in support of freedom in the new world … Today we call on the European Union to step forward for freedom and recognize Juan Guaido as the only legitimate president of Venezuela,” Pence said.
