WATCH: Trump Holds Surprise Press Conference With Mitch McConnell (LIVE STREAM)
At 1:30 p.m. EST today, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is scheduled to hold a presser on all the latest developments, controversies, and future plans of the Trump Administration.
After President Donald Trump’s executive order last week, health care news on Capitol Hill is officially back — yes, again. As the Senate moves to handle the administration’s effort to cut health insurers’ subsidy payments, a number of lawmakers are putting forward their own health care plans to more permanently solve the matter. Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wis, is expected to release a relatively conservative health care bill, while Senators Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn and Patty Murray, D-Wash, plan to present their own bi-partisan, moderate proposal.
With many health care experts and Democrat lawmakers criticizing the impact the administration’s executive order will have on Americans, particularly for those with preexisting conditions, plenty of questions on Trump’s latest efforts on health care can be expected.
Additionally, Trump has spent the past few weeks firing off at a number of GOP leaders, but now plans to share a meal with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — presumably to ease tensions and orchestrate a Republican tax reform solution so they can at least have one major bill out before the 2018 campaign season rolls around.
As stories continue to circulate about name calling, depression, and general unease inside the White House, Sanders will certainly have to address some of this heightened tension — a topic she holds particular disdain for and knocks as “petty palace intrigue.”
