A Combative Donald Trump On CNN: Obama May Have Pulled Off ‘Greatest Scam In History’

On CNN’s Newsroom, CNN anchor Suzanne Malveaux confronted self-described potential possible presidential candidate Donald Trump over comments he made on The View saying “nobody remembered” President Obama from his childhood. Malveaux, who traveled to Hawaii and interviewed childhood friends of the president, and some of his coaches and teachers, played parts of her documentary featuring recollections of Mr. Obama as a child.

Trump pivoted from his earlier comments, saying “if he was three years old or two years old or one year old and people remember him, that’s irrelevant.” Trump also said he doubts the Hawaiian governor remembers the president’s birth, saying the governor may be “taking a bullet for the party.”

In an interview marked by an often sarcastic and combative Trump, the Apprentice star suggested that President Obama–if he was not truly born in the U.S.–has pulled off “the greatest scam in history.”
