ABC’s Jon Karl Confronts Sarah Sanders on Trump’s ‘SpyGate’ Claim: Gowdy Said It’s Baseless!

During today’s press briefing, ABC News’ Jon Karl grilled White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders over President Trump‘s “SpyGate” claim.

Since last night, both Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano have debunked the President’s claim, with Gowdy saying the FBI acted properly and Napolitano saying the “spy” accusation is “outlandish.”

Karl brought up Gowdy’s comments and asked Huckabee Sanders, “Is the President prepared now to retract his allegation that the FBI was spying on his campaign?”

Huckabee Sanders said there is still “cause for concern,” citing the firing of Andrew McCabe and “a number of things that have been reported on.”

Karl tried pressing further, noting how Gowdy was in last week’s big briefing. He asked, “Based on what evidence?!”

Huckabee Sanders just moved on.
