Adam Sandler Signs 4-Movie Deal with Streaming Company That ‘Rhymes with Wet Chicks’

Netflix made its second foray into the original motion picture business this week, announcing a four-picture deal with Caron Daly Adam Carolla Adam Sandler on Thursday. The online streaming company, which has been successful with original television programming like House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, signed a deal to release a sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon earlier this week.

The films will be produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison company, with the first entry expected as early as next year, and will be released straight to Netflix streaming. Throughout his improbably consistent career Sandler has been a reliable box office draw, though his best movie is his lowest grossing.

““When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said ‘yes’ for one reason and one reason only…,” quoth Sandler in a statement. “Netflix rhymes with Wet Chicks. Let the streaming begin!!!!””

In an Instagram post, Sandler goofed that he’d meant to sign up to Netflix’s streaming service and wound up with a four-picture deal by mistake.

The rich are different than you and me.
