After Shutdown Deal and Stone Indictment, Don Lemon Asks: ‘Has There Ever Been a Worse Day’ for Trump?
“Has there ever been a worse day for President Trump?”
CNN’s Don Lemon posed that question last night at the end of a long day following the indictment of Roger Stone and President Donald Trump announcing a deal to end the shutdown without the money he demanded for a border wall.
“Is it any wonder,” Lemon asked, “on a day like this that Donald Trump was the picture of the sad president, or as he has been known to say, low energy?”
He found the applause during Trump’s address to be a little baffling, remarking the entire shutdown was on Trump and “the emperor not only has no clothes, he has no walls.”
Last night Trump insisted he did not make a concession:
I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!

Lemon said in response that “this is all about ego” and a White House “completely out of touch with reality.”
He also slammed Sarah Sanders for downplaying the Stone indictment when he’s been a close ally of Trump’s for many, many years.
