Al Jazeera Reporter Defends Exposé’s Claims About Peyton Manning, HGH
Al Jazeera set off quite a firestorm in the sports world with a documentary making some serious claims about Peyton Manning‘s wife receiving HGH. The Dark Side examined the use of steroids in many different sports leagues, including the NFL.
Charlie Sly, a former employee of Indianapolis’ Guyer Institute, spoke to Al Jazeera about how HGH was secretly mailed to Manning’s wife. After the documentary aired, Sly walked all of it back, and Manning said he’s pretty furious. He’s even considering a lawsuit.
Deborah Davies, the Al Jazeera reporter behind the exposé, appeared on The Today Show this morning to defend the report.
She repeatedly insisted that they never directly said Manning is taking HGH, merely that his wife was receiving repeated shipments of a drug that has been banned by the NFL.
Davies also said that Manning has not once denied that his wife received the HGH, continuing to make it clear they were not directly accusing Manning of anything.
