Alan Dershowitz Bashes Comey For Cowardice: He ‘Is A Man Without Courage’

Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz tore into James Comey for being “a man without courage,” since he didn’t stand up to Donald Trump while he was FBI director and instead waited to be fired before accusing the president of wrongdoing.

While Dershowitz agreed with Comey about not going “to impeachment” and waiting for the results of the next election, he did claim Comey “demeaned the FBI by leaking material about unsubstantiated allegations” and “trafficking in gossip.”

He continued by accusing Comey of cowardice after his blockbuster ABC interview last night:

“He had no courage or guts to speak, himself, in front of the TV. He laundered [his information on Trump] through a law professor and gave the worst excuse last night. ‘Well, there is so many journalist, I didn’t want to give it to one journalist, I leaked it through my law professor friend from The New York Times.’ This is a man without courage. He didn’t have courage to tell the president to his face he was wrong. Instead he leaked it. He didn’t have courage to walk out of the meeting which he said was improper meeting when he was in the presence of the president. He showed no courage.”

Dershowtiz went on to compare himself to Comey, claiming that he is actually the brave one willing to call out the president.

“I think one of the reasons that the president talks to me from time to time I tell him exactly what I think at every point in time,” Dershowitz said. “If you’re head of the FBI you have to look the president in the eye, and you have to say, ‘Mr. President, you’re wrong.'”
