Alec Baldwin’s debut performance on MSNBC was met with mixed ratings. On the plus side for his network, MSNBC drew a big ratings boost in total viewers who tuned in to see the actor’s inaugural episode of Up Late. However, not all the news was good. The viewers that fell inside the key 25 – 54 demographic declined by 7 percent from the week prior.
654,000 people tuned in last Friday night to watch Baldwin interview New York City mayoral candidate Bill DeBlasio. That is a 53 percent increase in viewers from the week before for MSNBC’s 10 p.m. ET Friday time slot.
However, few of those viewers are the key demo that advertisers seek to attract. Only 172,000 viewers fell inside that demographic – a drop from that block last week.
