Amanda Knox Speaks To Press In Seattle: ‘Thank You For Being There For Me’
Finally being exonerated of murder in the Italian town in which she had been imprisoned for three years, Amanda Knox has finally come home. Her attorney and family spoke live moments ago from Seattle, where her plane landed, followed by statements from Knox herself. She had little to say amid tears, telling the crowd she was “really overwhelmed right now” and thanking everyone who defended her for standing up for her innocence.
Knox took the podium noting with a laugh that she had been immediately warned to remember to speak in English now that she was home, “I’ve been having problems with that.” Adding that watching the plane descend made her feel that “everything wasn’t real,” she had simple words for the press: “thank you to everyone who has believed in me, who has defended me… my family is the most important thing right now.” She did not take questions from the press.
