CNN’s Anderson Cooper appeared on Watch What Happens Live last night, and at one point he talked about his friendship with Kathy Griffin following CNN cutting ties to her.
It was less than two months ago when Griffin came under heavy criticism for that photoshoot where she held up President Trump‘s severed head. Because Griffin co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve bashes with Cooper, CNN announced they “terminated” their agreement with her in the wake of all that.
Cooper tweeted this at the time:
For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.

Cooper reiterated those comments to Andy Cohen, adding that they are still friends and saying, “She’s incredibly funny and a lot of people love her and I think she’ll bounce back from this.”
