When asked about whether Trump’s remarks will alienate him from the necessary middle-ground voters, Coulter (of course) turned the attention back to immigration, saying that Trump had already distinguished himself from his competition.
“We’re reading article after article about how this will appear as he’s unplugged, and taking on the elites and tea party,” Coulter said. “I think the issue that has been very obviously at the heart of his campaign is immigration.”
Coulter went on about how despite criticisms from Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and Rick Perry on the immigration subject, Trump was breaking the mold by talking about issues that she says they would describe as “fringe” or “tacky.” She brought up the death of Kate Steinle and the Chattanooga shooting as examples of her point.
Coulter concluded by saying that Trump’s rival “midgets” were determined to attack him for flip remark, while she was not seeing nearly as much outrage over Rubio’s three year push for amnesty.
