Ann Romney sat down with Piers Morgan on Monday night to talk about her new recipe book The Romney Family Table, as well as the 2012 campaign and whether she’d encourage anyone in the family to get involved in politics any time in the future. There was also much talk of fluffernutters.
Morgan admitted that he found Mitt Romney to be somewhat more “robotic” on the campaign trail last year compared to how relaxed he normally seems. Romney said it was frustrating to her so many people get the wrong idea about her husband, so she was happy during the debates where “people got to see an unfiltered view of him.” She told Morgan that if Chris Christie was the GOP nominee in 2016, Mitt would back him “100 percent.”
Romney said more women should be involved in politics, though counted herself out when Morgan pried. She also told Morgan that if any of her sons considered a run for political office, she would advise against it.
