Anthony Bourdain Previews Russia Show on Late Night: ‘Not Very Friendly’ to Putin
CNN’s Anthony Bourdain sat down with Seth Meyers on Late Night Wednesday and while he was there he talked about an upcoming episode Parts Unknown shot in Sochi, Russia just before the Winter Olympics there.
“It’s not a very friendly show towards Putin,” Bourdain told Meyers, which he said was a “concern” during filming. As he was watching “Anal Rampage” in his Moscow hotel room, Bourdain was wondering whether he should be worried about being bugged by the Kremlin.
In a recent interview with Mediaite, Bourdain described the episode as the “Emperor Putin” show, saying it will be “illustrative for what the world looks like inside Putin’s Russia.”
Shifting gears, Meyers asked Bourdain what his ideal “last meal” would be and he said it just happens to be where President Barack Obama ate dinner this week in Tokyo: the tiny restaurant featured in the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
“This is a president with a very good taste in food clearly, because he’s eating at my choice for last meal,” Bourdain said. “If I had to check out, that would be the meal.”
