Anthony Bourdain to Kimmel: CNN Allows Me Two ‘Sh*ts’ Per Episode

If you’ve ever watched Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, you may have noticed that it features far more intentionally un-bleeped profanity than anything else on CNN. Ahead of the season four premiere this Sunday, Anthony Bourdain sat down with Jimmy Kimmel and revealed that his freedom to curse is actually part of his unique deal with the cable news network.

“You say things that you don’t typically hear on CNN,” Kimmel told Bourdain.

“Yeah, it’s pretty awesome, they’ve altered standards and practices a little bit. I think I’m allowed two ‘shits’ per show,” Bourdain said. “We’re pushing for three next year,” he added.

Later in the interview, Kimmel praised Bourdain for the way his crew shoots the food on the show, to which the CNN host said, “We’re the best in the business in food porn.”
