MSNBC’s Ari Melber tonight took a moment or two to help viewers process how Roger Stone might be going to jail because he could not stay off Instagram.
The judge overseeing his case blasted the re-release of his book trashing Robert Mueller, and prosecutors for Mueller’s office flagged this now-deleted Instagram post from Stone as a potential violation of the gag order in place:

“It’s now more likely Roger Stone will go to jail and that’s because of Roger Stone,” Melber said tonight. “We know jail is more likely because the judge who decides this just gave Stone his last warning recently, noting from the bench he violated the gag order already and unlike baseball, ‘you don’t get a third chance.’ No more chances means jail.”
And why did he bring it on himself? Well…
“While Stone may not be able to control himself, to help himself to stop, this judge can jail him next week all because he keeps posting these attacks on Instagram, a sort of clumsy criminal wannabe gangster version of what the kids these days call ‘doing it for the gram.’ This may be a fitting crime for our reality show era because it risks everything for showmanship.”
Melber emphasized again that “Roger Stone could be the first defendant in this whole Mueller probe to literally go to jail for the gram before he even stands trial.”
