Rep. Bachmann to O’Reilly: Some Not ‘Comfortable’ with Woman President

Michele Bachmann sat down with Bill O’Reilly Tuesday night to clarify her recent comments about how Americans “aren’t ready” for a woman president. She explained to O’Reilly that she just meant there are some people who “don’t yet see that a woman should be president, but the overwhelming majority do.”

O’Reillly asked Bachmann if, politics aside, she would defend Hillary Clinton from critics just on the fact that they’re both prominent political women. Bachmann said some people “aren’t quite comfortable” with a female president no matter what, but in Clinton’s case, people are judging her on the merits, such as her handling of Benghazi and her own record on health care.

She railed against the “double standard” that exists in politics, pointing to questions she and Sarah Palin got that no male politician would ever get. Bachmann also decried the “war on women” that she believed liberals would jump all over to denounce any critics of Clinton’s as sexists and misogynists.
