Glenn Beck found himself agreeing with Bill Maher Monday about liberals’ unwillingness to admit Islam is the problem, but it bothered Beck that Maher’s comments, out of the mouth of any conservative, would have been treated with far more outrage and condemnation.
Maher said outright last Friday that “Islam is the problem,” and Beck argued that the biggest, if not the sole, reason Maher’s comments didn’t invite outrage was because he donated a million dollars to help Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012. He brought up the “smear campaign” against the brothers whose HGTV show was dropped merely for voicing their minds… but “here’s the number one supporter of Barack Obama, and you don’t hear a word.”
Beck said Maher is also “on the politically correct side,” which is how he’s able to get away with comments like that. He even went so far as to suggest Maher’s comments were far more provocative than the provocative video the White House initially blamed for the Benghazi attacks. And so, Beck argued, “using the White Hosue theory, you could jail Bill Maher for saying those things.”
