Bernie Sanders tonight held his first campaign rally in Washington, D.C.––ahead of the primary next week––since his meeting with President Obama earlier today.
Hillary Clinton is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for the presidency, but Sanders has not yet dropped out. Earlier this week, he objected to those calls about Clinton clinching the nomination, and he doesn’t plan on dropping out until, at least, D.C. votes next week.
When Sanders took the stage earlier tonight, he got chants of “Thank you Bernie! Thank you Bernie! Thank you Bernie!”
And then, Sanders basically proceeded to give his standard stump speech, with little acknowledgement of 1) his meeting with the president, and 2) the fact that the president endorsed Clinton.
How long will the Bernie train keep going?
