BET Founder Speaks on His ‘Positive and Productive Conversation’ with Trump
Bob Johnson, the founder of BET, spoke out on CNN tonight about his “frank and candid discussion” with Donald Trump. He told Erin Burnett that he came away from the meeting confidence that Trump is “committed to reaching out to African-Americans.”
He said Trump needs to be able to show how he can get people jobs, and so Johnson was encouraged by how much Trump wanted to talk about black outreach, “particularly on business matters.”
And while he did support Hillary Clinton, Johnson said that African-Americans shouldn’t be “locked in one party or ignored by the other.”
Trump’s meeting with Johnson comes amid other meetings Trump is having with other media outlets…
