Bill Kristol: I Don’t Feel Sorry for White House Staffers ‘Defending the Indefensible’
On CNN this afternoon, Bill Kristol said he doesn’t really “feel sorry for” staffers in the Trump White House.
RealClearPolitics’ A.B. Stoddard told Jake Tapper she does feel sorry for the staff whenever there’s replacement talk (like, say, Sarah Huckabee Sanders potentially becoming a permanent replacement for Sean Spicer).
She said that Huckabee Sanders would end up dealing with the same “chaos” as Spicer since neither of them can really control it that much.
Kristol doesn’t feel as sympathetic because “they’re defending the indefensible and doing so in ways that are damaging their own reputations and they should know that and they should be held accountable.”
He also said it’s “worrisome” that it appears White House staffers aren’t able to talk more sense into President Trump.
