Billy Eichner and Seth Meyers Prove How Little New Yorkers Care About the Emmys

Seth Meyers gave his friend Billy Eichner a major platform Monday night when he invited him onstage to present a video the two men filmed the proves just how little New Yorkers give a damn about the Emmy Awards.

Just like on the Funny or Die-produced show Billy on the Street, Eichner and Meyers ran around the streets of New York offering people a dollar to answer basic questions like, “Who is hosting this year’s Emmy Awards?” (Hint: He’s standing right in front of you).

Even more embarrassing was the woman who had clearly never seen an Emmy award before and had zero idea what it was called. For all us west coast people who live and breathe the entertainment industry, this could only be described as a disturbing wake-up call.
