Bob Corker Loses It on the Senate Floor Over Party Bowing to Trump: ‘Gosh, We Might Poke the Bear!’

Senator Bob Corker angrily teed off on fellow Republicans over his efforts to rein in President Trump on tariffs.

Even as other Republicans have expressed some concern about the President’s move, Corker recently told CNN some of his colleagues are “fearful” of crossing Trump.

And apparently he’s getting tired of it.

On the Senate floor today, Corker called out John Cornyn––the No.2 Republican in the Senate––for his comments pushing back on this.

“We can’t do that,” Corker mockingly said, “because we’d be upsetting the President!”

“I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.

And he wasn’t even close to done:

“I would bet that 95 percent of the people on this side of the aisle support intellectually this amendment. I would bet that. I would bet higher than 95 percent. And a lot of them would vote for it if it came to a vote, but no no no, gosh, we might poke the bear! That’s the language I’ve been hearing in the hallways! ‘We might poke the bear! The President might get upset with us as United States senators if we vote on the Corker amendment, so we’re gonna do everything we can to block it! To block it!'”
