Fox News anchor Bret Baier is sticking with the network for another few years. Fox announced today Baier signed a new multi-year contract so he will continue to serve as the network’s chief political anchor and anchor of Special Report into the 2016 election.
“It is a real privilege and honor to continue at FOX News, where I have worked for almost two decades,” Baier said in Fox’s press release. “During that time, I have been given many amazing opportunities and am incredibly grateful that Roger Ailes has put his trust in me again. With the political season now in full swing and the world news environment constantly changing, there is still no better place to be — to bring fair and balanced news to viewers.”
Baier––who has hosted lots of special reports on Fox––has been heralded even outside the network for being a fair and honest anchor, qualities that Roger Ailes heralded in his statement on Baier’s contract extension.
“We are proud,” he said, “that his strong journalistic instincts and political expertise will be a part of FOX News throughout our 2016 election coverage and for many years to come.”
